About this product

Mars 2 x 35 g is the twin-bar wallet of the Mars bar, milk chocolate filled with candy cream (32%) and caramel (27%), sold as a 70 g flow wrap under the GS1 UK barcode 5000159408301.[2] The back panel photographed on this pack is printed in French and German and closes with "Produit aux Pays-Bas".[3] Its German table declares 1883 kJ / 448 kcal per 100 g and two printed 35 g portions of 659 kJ each.[4] The Ukrainian GS1 product passport for the same barcode, current to February 2025, breaks the recipe into milk chocolate 40%, nougat 32% and caramel 27%, names MARS Polska sp. z o.o. in Sochaczew as the plant and TOV "Mars Ukraina" in Brovary as the importer, and gives a slightly leaner panel of 444 kcal.[5] Kyiv shops list the pack by this barcode.[1]

More about this product

Forrest Mars Sr. first made the bar in Slough in 1932, modelling it on his father's American Milky Way and selling it worldwide except in the United States, in the black wrapper with red gold-edged lettering the front photograph still shows.[6] Mars Wrigley Confectionery UK Limited, the group's British confectionery manufacturer, is still registered in Slough.[7] The German retail twin pack of the same name and weight is a separate article under EAN 5900951311215, produced for Mars GmbH in Viersen, which is why no German market row is claimed here.[8]

The Ukrainian GS1 product passport carries this barcode as the consumer unit, names a Ukrainian importer and five sellers, and gives Poland as the country of manufacture.

A listing is evidence that this barcode is sold there, on that date; a price is what that listing showed, not a recommended price.

Coverage & research gaps (11)

Coverage measures the evidence recorded here. It does not rate the product.

  • Identity: 3 / 3 · Name, brand and classification recorded
  • Context: 3 / 4 · Evidence groups assigned to a researched label, edition or analysis
  • Label photographs: 0 / 3 · Researched contexts with an assigned photograph
  • German-language back label photographed on the 70 g twin pack: nutrient evidence: 16 / 16 · Recorded nutrient rows linked to a source; not the number of nutrients that ought to exist
  • Ukrainian-market label as recorded in the Listex GS1 product passport: nutrient evidence: 8 / 8 · Recorded nutrient rows linked to a source; not the number of nutrients that ought to exist
  • markets · unknown: Open Food Facts contributors tag this barcode France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland, but no listing in those countries carrying this GTIN was found. The German retail twin pack of the same name and net content is a different article, EAN 5900951311215, made for Mars GmbH in Viersen, so German shelf evidence does not belong here.
  • identity · disputed: Three origin statements disagree: the pack itself prints "Produit aux Pays-Bas", the Ukrainian GS1 passport gives Poland with Mars Polska in Sochaczew as the plant, and the Ukrainian shop Prodmag lists the country attribute as Great Britain. Only the first is read from the pack, so country_of_origin follows it and the Poland fact sits on the Ukrainian market row.
  • relationships · unknown: No public source names the licensee of GS1 company prefix 5000159, so the gs1_prefix_owner edge is derived from the prefix being in the GS1 UK range and Mars Wrigley Confectionery UK being the group's British confectionery manufacturer.
  • nutrition · stale: The German panel and ingredient statement were photographed in March 2021; whether that label revision is still on shelf in 2026 is unverified.
  • evidence · stale: Evidence was observed over a year ago; check for newer labels. Historical evidence remains valid.
