About

Mars, Incorporated is the American confectionery, pet food and food group that announced in April 2008 that it would acquire the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company for about 23 billion US dollars, financed with Berkshire Hathaway, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan; Berkshire Hathaway held a minority equity investment in Wrigley until October 2016, when Mars took full control.^[1] In 2016 Mars merged Wrigley with its chocolate segment to form Mars Wrigley Confectionery, now Mars Snacking.^[1]
