About

Starch is the unqualified starch of an ingredient list, where the label does not say which plant it came from; where the botanical source is declared, the more specific entities corn starch, potato starch or modified starch apply instead. It is declared in the nougat of the Mars 70 g twin pack on its Ukrainian label, without a source plant.[1] The German label photographed on the same barcode does not list starch at all, one of several differences between the two national recipes.[2]
