About this product

Milka Happy Cow is a 100 g tablet of Alpine milk chocolate (85 %) set with white chocolate (15 %) in cow-spot patches, sold under the Milka brand that Mondelez International has owned since the 2012 Kraft Foods demerger.[2][5] One barcode carries several national names: German packs print Kuhflecken over Cow Spots, the export pack prints Happy Cow over Koeienvlekken, and the old Barcodepedia catalogued it as Milka Happy Cows in 2008.[6][7][8] Three photographed label generations share the same panel of 538 kcal per 100 g but not the same recipe text: the 2017 pack declares 30 % cocoa solids minimum and whole hazelnuts, while the 2023 and 2025 packs declare 33 % and hazelnut paste.[9][1][10] The 2023 pack serves Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Czechia and Slovakia; the 2025 pack serves Poland, the Baltic states, the British Isles, Malta, Iceland and the Netherlands.[1][2]

Milka was created in 1901 by Carl Russ-Suchard at Chocolat Suchard and has been produced in Loerrach, Germany, since that year; Kraft Foods took over the brand in 1990 and Mondelez International has held it since 2012.[5] The 2017 pack prints Hergestellt in Deutschland; the 2023 pack prints Hergestellt in der EU instead.[9][1] A Polish wholesaler and two US importers of European groceries list the barcode itself.[11][3][12]
