About Milka
Milka is a European milk-chocolate brand, recognisable by its lilac packaging and the Alpine cow used as its symbol since 1971. Carl Russ-Suchard created it at Chocolat Suchard in 1901, the name a portmanteau of Milch and Kakao, and it has been made at Lรถrrach in Germany since that year; Austrian sales began in the 1910s.[1] The script logo and the lilac wrapper were trademarked by the 1960s. Suchard merged with Tobler into Interfood in 1970 and with Jacobs in 1982; Kraft Foods acquired Jacobs Suchard in 1990, and in October 2012 spun its snack business off as Mondelฤz International, which has owned Milka since.[1] Packs of the I love Milka gifting range print the wordmark above the range's heart lockup.[2]
