Mountain Dew Code Red is the cherry-flavoured extension of PepsiCo's Mountain Dew, and this barcode is its 12 fl oz (355 ml) single can for the United States.[2][3] PepsiCo launched Code Red in stores in May 2001, the first large-scale departure from the brand's flagship citrus flavour, and it lifted overall Mountain Dew sales by six per cent in its first year.[4] USDA Branded Foods carries a GDSN record for this exact GTIN naming Pepsico Inc. as brand owner, and PepsiCo's own product facts site gives 54 mg of caffeine and 50 mg of phosphorus for the can.[5][2] Amazon.com lists the can under this UPC, and a Washington, DC shop lists it at USD 1.30 under the UPC-E form 01206201.[6][1]
