About

Mountain Dew is PepsiCo's citrus-flavoured carbonated soft drink brand, distributed across the United States and Canada by the Pepsi-Cola company after it acquired the drink from Tip; between the 1940s and the 1980s it was sold as a single citrus-flavoured, caffeinated variety.[1] Diet Mountain Dew followed in 1988 and the cherry-flavoured Code Red in 2001, since when the line has grown to take in specialty, limited-time, regional and retailer-exclusive flavours.[1] The brand was also produced in the United Kingdom from 1996 until it was phased out in 1998.[1] The front of the 20 fl oz Code Red bottle carries this brand, with Code Red as the flavour name.[2]
