The Battle Rages On... is the fourteenth studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released on 19 July 1993 in Europe, and the last album by its Mk II line-up before Ritchie Blackmore's final departure.[4] This barcode belongs to the RCA compact disc with catalogue number 74321 15420 2, issued by Bertelsmann Music Group under licence to BMG International.[5] The same number is printed on the first European pressing made in Germany by Sonopress, on later European represses including a 2014 run made by Sony DADC,[6] on the Canadian pressing made by Cinram[2] and on the Australia and New Zealand pressing.[3] MusicBrainz lists the Canadian jewel-case release with ten tracks.[7] In September 2026 the UK retailer Rarewaves still listed the CD new under this barcode.[1]
More about this product
The album was recorded between May 1992 and March 1993 at Bearsville Studios, Red Rooster Studios in Tutzing and Greg Rike Studios, with Thom Panunzio and Roger Glover producing.[5] Ian Gillan returned in late 1992 and rewrote much of the material, and Blackmore left after a show in Helsinki on 17 November 1993.[4]
