About this product
Chewits Strawberry 30 g is a stick pack of individually wrapped strawberry-flavour chewy sweets under Cloetta's Chewits brand, with 3 % strawberry juice from concentrate.[1][3] Bestway's data sheet names Cloetta UK in Fareham as the manufacturer's address.[1] Its current ingredient list has no soya, which wrappers photographed in 2017 and 2020 declared inside the vegetable fat. The current panel gives 1647 kJ per 100 g, where the older wrapper printed 1621 kJ.[1][4][5] British sweet shops and an Australian shop for British food list the barcode.[6][2]
More about this product
Strawberry was among the first Chewits flavours.[3] Wikipedia says the sweets were first made in 1963 as "Chewzits" by J A & P Holland in Southport and renamed Chewits in 1965, and that UK production moved to Slovakia in 2006; Cloetta's own history dates the first Chewits in shops to 1965.[3][7] The 2007 Barcodepedia page recorded the name Chewits Strawberry.[8]
