About

Chewits is a British brand of cuboid soft chewy sweets made by Cloetta.[1] Wikipedia dates the first production to 1963, as "Chewzits" by J A & P Holland in Southport, renamed Chewits in 1965 after the company joined Cavenham Foods. It adds that UK manufacturing closed in 2006 and moved to Slovakia.[1] Cloetta UK dates the Chewits name to 1965. Its mascot Chewie the Chewitsaurus has fronted the brand's television advertising since 1976.[2][3]
