About this product
The 200 g tin is the single-serve size of Heinz Beanz, the haricot beans in tomato sauce that Heinz first sold in Britain at Fortnum & Mason in 1886 and has called Heinz Beanz there since 2008.[4] The maker's British site lists it as Baked Beanz, 200 gr, alongside three-, four- and six-tin packs of the same can.[1] The current ring-pull tin carries "ESTD 1869" on the keystone and declares 50 per cent beans and 36 per cent tomatoes, with 163 kcal in the can, which the label counts as one serving.[5] The 2015 tin was marked "Made in England" and named H.J. Heinz Foods UK Ltd. of Hayes as its operator, with careline numbers for the United Kingdom and Ireland.[2] Heinz has belonged to The Kraft Heinz Company since the merger of 2 July 2015.[6]
The photographs show two label generations. The tin photographed in 2015 and again in 2018 read "Baked beans in a deliciously rich tomato sauce", claimed the beans were naturally high in protein and fibre and naturally low in fat, and declared 51 per cent beans, 34 per cent tomatoes and 78 kcal per 100 g.[2] The label photographed in 2025 and 2026 shortens the strapline to "In a rich tomato sauce", adds a vegan claim and a protein health claim, and declares 81 kcal and 15.5 g of carbohydrate per 100 g against 12.5 g before.[5] The maker's own page still prints the older 51 and 34 per cent split with a different list of minor ingredients, while its per-can nutrition figures match the current label.[1] In 2018 the tin was also photographed with a French-language sticker translating the earlier ingredient list.[7] In the United States it is sold by shops importing British food, one of which keys its listing to this barcode.[3]
