About

Heinz is the food brand that Henry J. Heinz founded in 1869 and that the H. J. Heinz Company built from Pittsburgh into a business selling on six continents, ranked first in ketchup in the United States.[1] The "57 Varieties" slogan has been on the packs since 1896; Henry Heinz picked the number for luck rather than for any count of products.[1] Berkshire Hathaway and 3G Capital took the H. J. Heinz Company private in 2013, and on 2 July 2015 it merged with Kraft Foods Group to form The Kraft Heinz Company, which owns the brand today.[1][2] In Britain the brand's baked beans have been sold as Heinz Beanz since 2008.[3]
