About this product
Skittles Original is the 61 g single bag of the fruit-flavoured Skittles candies sold in Canada, labelled in English and French as "Bite Size Candies / En bouchées".[1][2] Skittles is a brand of the Wrigley Company, a division of Mars, and appears on Mars Canada's brand list.[3][4] The 2023 pack names Mars Canada Inc. as importer, while earlier packs named Wrigley Canada of Toronto and the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company as trademark owner.[1][5] The newer ingredient list names each of seven colours where the older one read "colours (with tartrazine)".[1][5]
More about this product
Skittles were introduced in 1971 by Jack Candies, a British distributor for Mars, and Mars' Wrigley division took over the brand in 2008.[3] In January 2018 Wrigley Canada and Mars Chocolate began operating as one business, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, part of Mars Canada Inc.[6] The barcode already had a page on the 2006-2013 Barcodepedia, titled "Skittles (original) - 61g".[7] It is still listed by a Canadian wholesaler.[8]

- relationships · unknown: No photo shows a manufacturer or a "Product of" line, so manufactured_by and country_of_origin are left blank
- relationships · disputed: The importer line at the bottom of the 2023 ingredient photo is cropped and blurred; "Mars Canada Inc." is legible, the verb before "par" and the address are not
- nutrition · unknown: The 2023 photo shows only part of the new-format table; trans fat, cholesterol, fibre, potassium, calcium and iron were not visible and are not recorded
- nutrition · schema_gap: The earlier table declares vitamin A 0 %, vitamin C 0 %, calcium 0 % and iron 0 % DV only as percentages; they are not converted to amounts
- markets · unknown: Metro (metro.ca) and Jean Coutu (jeancoutu.com) list this barcode in their URLs but answer 403 to both the server and our own fetch, so no retail price is recorded
- images · not_researched: Photos uploaded 2022-08-22 (imgid 6, 7) are the same pictures as the 2020 uploads and were not used separately
