PepsiCo's own label transcription for this barcode, information updated 22 September 2023 by Mountain Dew. Its nutrition tab states "6 Servings Per Container" with a serving of one bottle, which is what fixes this GTIN as the six-pack rather than a single bottle. The ingredients tab adds "Caffeine Content 77mg/16.9 fl oz." Revision 0013, updated 18 October 2023, carries the same title with a different operator block.[^sl13]

  • free from: FDA major food allergens (milk, peanuts, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, soy, tree nuts, wheat, sesame)[3] · PepsiCo's allergens tab states "This product does not contain any of these common food allergens". Copied as the manufacturer declares it; it is not inferred from the ingredient list.

Label Insight record fdc_id 2594310, available 2023-07-13, modified 2023-06-23. Its ingredient statement matches PepsiCo's SmartLabel word for word, including the order of potassium benzoate and citrus pectin, so the two agree independently. USDA gives the package as 16.9 fl oz, the size of one bottle rather than of the six-pack.

  • PepsiCo product facts entry for this GTIN supported · Compare evidence

PepsiCo's United States product facts site holds a page for this GTIN titled "Diet Mountain Dew - 16.9 fl oz", filed under "Carbonated Soft Drinks > Mountain Dew". It gives the serving as one bottle with one serving per container, publishes caffeine and phosphorus in page text, and lists the other package sizes of the article. Its nutrition-label widget renders from a script the server cannot read.

The panel above it is the pre-2016 United States format (Sugars, no Added Sugars or Potassium line) and the label reads "BOTTLED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF PEPSICO, INC., PURCHASE, NY 10577", "SUGAR FREE - VERY LOW SODIUM, 35mg or less per 240 mL (8 fl oz)" and the print code 021Q-222-0007-J0. Open Food Facts files it under the French language, but the label is the English United States one: fl oz, an FDA panel and a Purchase, New York operator block. It is a full statement ending in brominated vegetable oil and Yellow 5, with the phenylketonurics warning and 76 mg of caffeine per bottle. valid_until follows Wikipedia's statement that the emulsifier had been removed from Mountain Dew as of 2020, not a date printed on any label.[^wikimd]

Single bottles on a shelf carry their own barcode rather than this six-pack one, so the photograph is kept as unconfirmed evidence of the current bottle artwork and is not treated as a picture of this article.

About this product

Diet Mountain Dew is the sugar-free version of PepsiCo's citrus soft drink, and this barcode is its six-pack of 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) bottles for the United States.[2][3] PepsiCo's SmartLabel entry for the UPC settles the pack size, stating six servings per container of one bottle each, and gives 5 calories, 70 mg of sodium, less than 1 g of carbohydrate and no sugars per bottle, with 110 mg of potassium and 77 mg of caffeine.[3] Concentrated orange juice follows carbonated water in the list, and the drink is sweetened with aspartame, acesulfame potassium and sucralose and coloured with Yellow 5.[3][4] PepsiCo declares it free of the FDA's major food allergens.[3] The bottles are filled "under the authority of PepsiCo, Inc., Purchase, NY".[5]

More about this product

Diet Mountain Dew was introduced in 1988, four decades after the citrus original.[6] Its recipe carried brominated vegetable oil until PepsiCo removed the emulsifier from Mountain Dew as of 2020: a bottle photographed for Open Food Facts in 2018 still lists it and declares 76 mg of caffeine, where the 2021 photograph of a bottle under the same barcode does not.[7][5][6] The 2006-2013 Barcodepedia carried this UPC in 2007 as "diet mountain dew" with a 16.9 oz container; its "Produced in USA or Canada" line was generated from the barcode prefix and is not evidence of origin.[8] A United States shop still lists the six-pack.[1]

  • identity · disputed: Open Food Facts lists this barcode under both France and the United States. Every label read here is the English United States one, in fluid ounces with an FDA panel and a Purchase, New York operator block, and the 2018 photograph Open Food Facts files under the French language shows that same English label, so no French market is recorded.
  • ingredients · unknown: The 2021 photograph is cut off inside "CALCIUM DISODIUM", so the end of that label's list, including whether it named Yellow 5 and carried the phenylketonurics warning, was not read.
  • nutrition · unknown: The Calories row of the 2018 panel is above the top edge of the photograph.
  • nutrition · not_researched: PepsiCo's product facts page renders its full nutrition label in a widget the server cannot read; only the caffeine and phosphorus figures it publishes as page text were transcribed from it.
  • ingredients · stale: The current statement comes from PepsiCo's SmartLabel revision updated 22 September 2023 and the USDA record of the same year. No 2026 photograph of the back label of this six-pack was found, so whether today's bottle prints the same list is not confirmed.
  • relationships · unknown: Which PepsiCo entity licensed GS1 prefix 0012000 is unsettled across this corpus: no company stub states the prefix, and the brand owner named on this barcode's USDA record, Pepsi-Cola North America Inc., is a divisional name rather than a registry-confirmed registrant. Nothing is written to gs1_prefixes here.
  • markets · not_researched: Only one United States listing printing this UPC in page text was found; Dollar General and Fruth Pharmacy, which also list the six-pack, answer a wall to the server. Canada, which shares the 000-019 GS1 range, was not researched.
  • images · disputed: Open Food Facts has the 2026 shelf photograph selected as the ingredients image although it shows no ingredient list, and its own typed ingredients field for this barcode is optical-character-recognition noise from that photograph rather than a statement.
  • packaging · unknown: No packaging material declaration was found for the wrap or the bottles.
