MEG Weißenfels GmbH & Co. KG is a mineral-water and soft-drink bottler at Langendorfer Straße 23 in Weißenfels, Saxony-Anhalt, and the operator of the meg-gruppe.com site.^[1] It is entered in the commercial register of the Amtsgericht Stendal under HRA 32083, carries the LEI 529900HUKG6OOF3WF963 and the VAT number DE198808052, and was created on 20 July 1998; its general partner is MEG Beteiligungs-GmbH, HRB 206570 Stendal.^[2][3][1][4] The company is printed as the food business operator on Lidl's Freeway bottles,^[5] the group's range page states that its colas, orangeade and lemonades are sold at Lidl under the Freeway brand and at Kaufland as K-Classic,^[6] and it fills natural mineral water for Lidl's Saskia and Kaufland's K-Classic at the spring sites Leißling, Löningen, Jessen, Kirkel and Wörth am Rhein.^[7]

MEG is the abbreviation of Mitteldeutsche Erfrischungsgetränke, and packs in circulation still print the earlier names: the register carried "Mitteldeutsche Erfrischungsgetränke GmbH & Co. KG Handels- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft" until 27 January 2009 and "Mitteldeutsche Erfrischungsgetränke GmbH & Co. KG" until the change to the present name on 14 October 2019.^[4] The company's own site describes MEG as the beverage and recycling network of Schwarz Produktion, the production arm of the Schwarz group behind Lidl and Kaufland,^[8] and North Data records a register event of 7 July 2020 pairing MEG with Schwarz Produktion GmbH & Co. KG, which changed its legal form to Stiftung & Co. KG on 24 June 2021.^[4][9] The chain between the two is not fully documented: North Data lists PHO G GmbH & Co. KG (Amtsgericht Stendal HRA 2862) as a shareholder in filings up to 2025 and as the parent that consolidated MEG's accounts for the year to 29 February 2020, while GLEIF files no parent record at all, giving instead a reporting exception whose reason is that the accounting consolidation parent has no LEI.^[10]
