About

Epic Records is an American record label owned by Sony Music Entertainment, part of Sony Music Group under Sony Group Corporation. It was launched in 1953 by the Columbia Records unit of CBS to market jazz, pop and classical music that did not fit the Columbia label, and by the end of the 1960s had become a rock, R&B and country hit-maker.[1] Its imprint appears, with Immortal Records, on the US CD of Korn's Take a Look in the Mirror (EK 90335), whose pack reads "Manufactured by Epic, a division of Sony Music".[2]
