- Front of the 500 g bag supported · Compare evidence
Front of pack: Côte d'Or shield with the elephant and "SINCE 1883", "Chokotoff", "NOIR - PUUR", the Cocoa Life logo, a front-of-pack energy flash and the net content 500 g.
- Back panel, French block supported · Compare evidence
French-language block of the bilingual back panel, badged (FR)(BE). The Dutch block of the same panel is recorded as back-2021-nl; one label, two language blocks, not two recipes.
- Back panel, Dutch block supported · Compare evidence
Dutch-language block of the same bilingual back panel, badged (BE)(NL). The normalised ingredient rows are attached to back-2021-fr only, to avoid recording one list twice.
- Back panel photographed 2023 supported · Compare evidence
Same pack design; source of the transcribed nutrition table and of the note "9,8 g = 1 Chokotoff; environ 51 Chokotoff par paquet". The operator block photographed a day later prints the Dutch address as "Postbus 1146, 4801 BC Breda" where the 2021 photograph printed "Postbus 409, 4900 AK Oosterhout", so this is a later label revision.

About this product
Chokotoff is a chocolate-coated toffee that Côte d'Or created in Belgium in 1934 and that has become an iconic Belgian sweet.[2] This article is the 500 g bag of the dark-chocolate version, sold as Noir in French and Puur in Dutch, its toffees wrapped separately; the back panel declares "toffees enrobés de chocolat (27 %)" and the nutrition footnote gives one Chokotoff as 9.8 g and about 51 to a bag.[1][3] Côte d'Or was founded in Schaerbeek in 1883 and has belonged to Mondelēz International since the 2012 Kraft Foods split.[4] The pack names Mondelez Belgium in Mechelen, Mondelez France in Clamart and Mondelez Nederland as the responsible operators.[1] Open Food Facts gives the net content as 250 g; every pack photograph on its own record and the archived 2008 Barcodepedia entry for this barcode say 500 g.[5][6]
More about this product
Côte d'Or made Chokotoff at its plant in Halle near Brussels from the start. In June 2011 Kraft Foods, then the brand's owner, announced that production would move to Lithuania from 2013; after protest by the Belgian union BBTK the group confirmed in February 2012 that Chokotoff would stay in Halle.[2] A Sligro Belgium trade listing still carries the 500 g dark bag as article 154830.[7]

🇧🇪 Belgium
Sligro.be[7] derived
- Listing observed
Sligro Belgium wholesale listing "COTE D'OR Chokotoff bonbons chocolat noir Sac 500 g", article 154830, brand Côte d'Or: name, dark chocolate, bag and 500 g all match. Derived because the GTIN 05410081212011 appears only in the page's image-service path, not in a printed EAN field; no price is shown outside the trade login.
A listing is evidence that this barcode is sold there, on that date; a price is what that listing showed, not a recommended price.

Coverage measures the evidence recorded here. It does not rate the product.

- identity · disputed: Open Food Facts records the net content of this barcode as 250 g. All three pack photographs on that same record (2018, 2021, 2023) print 500 g, as does the archived 2006-2013 Barcodepedia entry for the barcode; 500 g is recorded here and the Open Food Facts field is treated as a contributor error.
- markets · disputed: The Open Food Facts record tags this barcode en:netherlands only, while its search index returns Belgium and France for it. Neither is a source; the country badges printed on the pack (FR, BE, NL) are used instead.
- identity · unknown: No photographed surface states a country of origin, so country_of_origin is left empty. Wikipedia reports that Chokotoff has been made at Côte d'Or's Halle plant since 1934 and that Kraft Foods confirmed in February 2012 that production would stay there, but nothing sources the plant for this pack.
- ingredients · stale: The transcribed ingredient statements come from the 2021-10-01 photograph. In the 2023 nutrition photograph the right-hand edge of the ingredient block shows the acidifier written out as a citrate rather than as "E331", but the block is cut off and unreadable, so the later statement is not transcribed.
- packaging · unknown: The label declares "environ 51 Chokotoff par paquet", an approximate count for a weight-filled bag, so no exact piece count is recorded in Identity.
