About this product

Mars 51 g under barcode 5000159551694 is the later code of the standard single Mars bar for Britain and Ireland: milk chocolate (40 %) with a soft nougat (32 %) and caramel centre (27 %), the bar Forrest Mars Sr. first made in Slough in 1932.[3][4] Its recipe uses whey permeate where the earlier 51 g article listed lactose, whey powder and milk protein, and a bar gives 948 kJ (225 kcal).[4] The wrapper carries a GB consumer block for Mars Wrigley Confectionery and an Irish one for Mars Foods Ireland Ltd.[1] Bars photographed in 2024 carry a sticker of the Spanish importer Overseas Imports S.L. of Benissa.[2] Bestway Wholesale lists it in cases of 48, and London convenience stores sold it at GBP 0.85 in September 2026.[4][5]

The single bar settled at 51 g in 2013 and was cut again in Britain to 40 g from March 2026 at an unchanged 75p price-mark.[3][6] The clearance retailer Best Before it's Gone has listed this barcode at GBP 0.40 a bar.[7] Overseas Imports, the importer on the Spanish sticker, is registered in Benissa under tax number B38437109 and trades as The Food Co.[8]
