About this product

Beck's Pils is the flagship pilsner of the Bremen brewery founded in 1873, sold here in the 0.5-litre returnable green glass bottle that the old Barcodepedia catalogued under EAN-8 41001318 in 2008.[3] The back label declares "Pils · Alk. 4,9 % vol." over an ingredient statement of brewing water, barley malt and hops, and the beer is brewed to the German Reinheitsgebot.[4] The food business operator printed on the pack is Anheuser-Busch InBev Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG of Am Deich 18/19, 28199 Bremen,[5] and the brewery has belonged to the Belgian group since Interbrew bought it for 1.8 billion euros in February 2002.[6] A 2024 photograph of the same bottle adds a deposit line in Swiss francs beside the German Mehrweg wording.[2]

Heinrich Beck, Lüder Rutenberg and Thomas May founded the Kaiser-Brauerei Beck & May in Bremen's Neustadt on 27 June 1873; the pilsner developed from 1876 won a gold medal in Philadelphia, and the key of the Bremen coat of arms, slanted the other way after the city objected, became the mark still on the label.[7] Beck's is exported to roughly 120 countries and remains the range's anchor alongside Gold, Blue and Unfiltered.[8]

Where it's sold

  • The 2024 back-label photograph prints "Pfandflasche/Mehrweg · Depot Fr. –.30", a deposit stated in Swiss francs, which is the Swiss deposit line for a returnable bottle.[2] Switzerland · printed
  • The back label prints the German food business operator "Anheuser-Busch InBev Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, 28199 Bremen · Germany" and www.becks.de, the German consumer site; the 2024 photograph of the same bottle adds "Pfandflasche/Mehrweg", the German reusable-deposit wording.[1] Germany · printed

A listing is evidence that this barcode is sold there, on that date; a price is what that listing showed, not a recommended price. Store links may be affiliate links (how this works).

Coverage & research gaps (14)

Coverage measures the evidence recorded here. It does not rate the product.

  • Identity: 3 / 3 · Name, brand and classification recorded
  • Context: 2 / 3 · Evidence groups assigned to a researched label, edition or analysis
  • Label photographs: 0 / 2 · Researched contexts with an assigned photograph
  • German back label, 2017 photograph: nutrient evidence: 16 / 16 · Recorded nutrient rows linked to a source; not the number of nutrients that ought to exist
  • markets · unknown: No retailer or Amazon listing was found for either market: amazon.de, edeka24.de, trinkgut.de, getraenke-hoffmann.de, mytime.de, getraenkeland.de, getraenke-hax.de, coop.ch and denner.ch were tried on 2026-09-17 and each was walled, redirected or returned no hit, so both Markets rows rest on the printed pack alone and neither carries a price.
  • markets · disputed: Open Food Facts lists countries_tags of Belgium, France and Germany. Nothing on the pack or in any listing supports Belgium or France, so they are not in country_of_sale; the photographs filed under the French language key show a German-language pack.
  • nutrition · stale: The only legible nutrition panel is the 2017-05-05 photograph. The ingredient and deposit photographs are from 2024 and no maker page or trade sheet with figures was found, so the panel may predate the current label.
  • identity · unknown: A GTIN-8 carries no company prefix (GS1 Germany allocates each number singly) and no source names the licensee of 41001318, so no gs1_prefix_owner relation is recorded.
  • identity · unknown: No country-of-origin statement is legible on the photographs. The front roundel prints "BREMEN · GERMANY EST 1873" as part of the brewery's mark, which is not an origin declaration, so country_of_origin is left empty.
  • nutrition · disputed: The Open Food Facts typed record gives 186.16 kJ against 38 kcal, a ratio no printed label uses; the label itself prints 161 kJ / 38 kcal, which is what this entry records.
  • markets · unknown: Searched amazon.it on 2026-09-17 for "Beck's Pils 0,5 l", brand alone "beck s", "000041001318", plus a confirming "Beck's birra 50 cl" and a price-ascending "Beck's Pils birra": no listing of this article; Store lists only multipacks of other sizes: 24 x 0,33 l bottles (B06XJMTZXS, B010MXQRWO), 24 x 44 cl cans (B0GR5QF64D), 6 x 33 cl cans x2 (B0FX4YY1JW) and Beck's Blue 24 x 330 ml (B08LHTNMD3). The size selector on B0FX4YY1JW lists only 330 ml packs of 6 and 12, so no 0,5 l sibling exists on this store.
  • markets · unknown: Searched amazon.fr on 2026-09-17 for "Beck's Pils 0,5 l", brand alone "beck s", "000041001318", plus a confirming "becks biere 50 cl" and a price-ascending "Beck's Pils biere": no listing of this article; Store lists only the 24 x 33 cl case pack (B004HKZ2M0 / B071WQDMLL, details table prints GTIN 04100130022692, and B010MXQRWO / B0B9CD9HPR / B0CPLFGBXG 'BEER 24 BOTTIGLE 0,33 LT BECK.'). The 0,5 l hits on this store are a Beck's branded beer glass (B08QM5LJ9Q), not beer.
