About this product

Dextro Energy Classic 138 g is a storage pack of three cubes — 24 individually wrapped dextrose tablets — of the plain Classic flavour of the German glucose cube.[3][4] The tablets are 89 % dextrose with maltodextrin, an anti-caking agent, citric acid and flavouring, and the article is sold under the denomination "Energieliefernde Dextrosetäfelchen".[4] German trade listings give Germany as the country of origin and name Dextro Energy GmbH & Co. KG of Krefeld as the operator printed on the pack.[3][5] It is stocked by German grocers and wholesalers, twenty packs to the carton, and in Canada by the Calgary importer Edelweiss Imports.[4][6][7]

The cube reached German shops in 1935 as Dextro Energen and was renamed Dextro Energy in 2002; its eight scored tablets are registered as a three-dimensional mark, and the business has belonged to Zertus GmbH of Hamburg since Unilever sold it on 5 March 2005.[8] The pack photographed for Open Food Facts between 2016 and 2019 carries the blue "schnell direct" design and prints its ingredient list and nutrition panel in six languages: German, English, Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian.[9][10] That panel gives fat and saturates as "< 1 g" each, where the trade record behind the 2026 German listings prints "< 0,5 g" fat, "0,3 g" saturates and salt at "< 0,01 g"; energy, carbohydrate, sugars and protein read the same on both.[11][3]
