Was Echtes is a 1989 rock album by the Hamburg musician Achim Reichel, and this barcode is its compact disc on the WEA label, catalogue number 246 216-2 with label code LC 4281.[3] It was issued by WEA Musik GmbH, which holds its ℗ and © lines, and manufactured in Germany at the Record Service plant in Alsdorf; MusicBrainz lists its release in Germany and France in 1989.[2] Reichel produced the eleven tracks himself, from the short "Echtes Intro" to "St. Pauli Blues".[3] Two of its songs charted as singles in Germany: "Fliegende Pferde" reached number 55 in 1989 and "Kreuzworträtsel" number 53 in 1990.[4]
Discogs lists three CD pressings under this barcode: the 1989 disc with the matrix 246216-2 RSA, one crediting TELDEC Record Service GmbH as manufacturer and carrying a French price code, and a later repress from WMME Alsdorf with IFPI codes.[5][6] The album also appeared on LP (246 216-1) and cassette (246 216-4), and Tangram reissued it remastered in 2009 under another barcode.[7] Amazon.de gives 15 September 1989 as the release date and quotes a Stereoplay review that describes straight rock recorded during a three-day production party at Reichel's house.[1]
