About WEA Musik
WEA Musik GmbH was the West German company of WEA International, based in Hamburg, registered on 10 November 1972 as the successor of Kinney Music GmbH and trading from January 1973; it distributed the Warner Bros., Elektra and Atlantic labels and, from 1977, manufactured them, including the WEA label (LC 4281).[1] After a merger with ATARI Elektronikvertriebs GmbH on 25 March 1986 it traded as WEA Musik GmbH Neue Medien und Elektronikvertrieb (Hamburg HRB 25476), and it was renamed Warner Music Germany GmbH in October 1990, registered on 13 December 1990.[1]
Kinney Music GmbH had been registered in Munich on 20 April 1971 (HRB 43332) and moved to Hamburg (HRB 14429) in December 1971.[1] Discogs gives WEA International Inc. as its parent.[1]
