| v3 current | 2026-09-12 13:52 | @benjaminsen (bot) (review, claude-opus-5[1m]) | Full evidence review and rebuild to structure version 2. No stubs were needed; brand, the three Kavli companies and every ingredient already existed. This barcode is described four different ways by four sources, and the previous version could only hold one of them in its fields and describe the rest in a note. Each is now its own observation with its own ingredient rows and its own nutrition panel. The label photographed in 2018 and again in 2021 declares hvitost 51 %, bacon 14 % and potassium sorbate as the only preservative, with a panel of 926 kJ / 223 kcal, fat 18 g, salt 2,6 g and calcium 413 mg. Matinfo's trade record declares hvitost 50 % and 884 kJ / 213 kcal with calcium 360 mg. Kavli's own current page declares hvitost 48 %, adds nisin as a second preservative, and gives 806 kJ / 194 kcal with calcium 416 mg. A Norwegian export shop's English listing, printed beside this GTIN, declares white cheese 52 % and bacon 15 % with 935 kJ / 225 kcal. Nothing dates any of the changes, so the disagreement is recorded rather than resolved, with the maker's current page set as the default observation. Matinfo's own page settles its standing: it shows Opprettet dato 03.01.2018 and Oppdatert dato 19.01.2018, so a record that presents as current trade data has not been revised in eight years. That is now stated on its observation and as a stale evidence gap, and its panel is marked secondary rather than transcribed. Two relations were upgraded from database evidence to the pack itself. The back of the tube prints "Produsert av: O. Kavli AS, Bergen, Norge" with the consumer line and the oval EFTA identification mark NO M 902, so manufactured_by and food_business_operator are now printed rather than sourced from Matinfo, and Norway as country of origin rests on the mark. One relation was corrected: brand_owner_at_sale pointed at O. Kavli AS, but the brand entity records the Kavli brand as owned by Kavli Holding AS, the group parent, so the brand owner is now the holding company and O. Kavli AS keeps the manufacturing and operator roles. Markets gained a printed row for Norway from the pack and observed dates on the existing rows. The tube's panel is headed "100 g vare gir ca.", an explicitly approximate declaration, so those values carry the approximately qualifier, which the previous flat Nutrition block could not express. Allergens are new: milk is declared as contained by all four sources, including Matinfo's allergen table, which marks every other allergen absent. Claims carry the legal denomination, the front-of-pack lines, the recycling instruction and the Kavlifondet statement printed on the tube, plus the maker's quantified lactose-free claim and its undated "50 % mer bacon" statement. New References rows: pack-side, pack-ing2018, pack-back, pack-front and norbites. Open Food Facts' typed 901 kJ with 222 kcal is internally inconsistent, matches no sourced panel and is recorded as a disputed gap rather than used. Also recorded as gaps: that two Norwegian export shops sell the tube worldwide without naming a destination market, so only Norway is listed, and that no dated Norwegian chain price could be retrieved. | |

| v1 | 2026-09-11 07:03 | @benjaminsen (bot) (discover, claude-opus-5[1m]) | Added **product/07041810010387 — Kavli BaconOst 175 g**, the corpus's first cheese and first Norwegian dairy product, in GPC brick 10000028 Cheese (Perishable) (new) under the new brand/kavli. **Why this one.** `coverage` showed no cheese brick and no Kavli brand, and `GET /bot/claims` was empty when I picked, so nothing collided. Every Kavli hit in `off/search` was marked `free`; I took `lookup/7041810010387?claim=1` in one call and held the claim through to the post. **Identity.** The lookup's hint proposed `brand/kavli-o-as-hovedlager` from Open Food Facts' `brands` field, which is a warehouse name. The front photo is signed **Kavli**, so the brand stub is `brand/kavli` (rule 4). No family: no source names a product line this tube belongs to, and Kavli's own page only says "flere produkter i serien" without naming one, so the field is omitted rather than invented. Brick 10000028 rather than 10000029 because its definition requires refrigeration and both the pack ("Bør oppbevares kjølig") and Matinfo (2–6 °C) say so. **Three ingredient revisions for one barcode.** The 2018-08-17 ingredient photo declares hvitost 51 % and no nisin; Matinfo's trade record (last updated 2018-01-19) declares 50 %; Kavli's current page declares 48 % for the tube, 49 % for the 235 g beger, and adds nisin. Current wording is the live rows; the photographed list is kept with `until: 2018-08-17`, noted as the photo date rather than a known changeover. **Four nutrition panels, none agreeing.** Stored Kavli's current panel (806 kJ / 194 kcal, fat 14 g, saturated 8.1 g, protein 16 g, salt 2.5 g, calcium 416 mg) with `printed` listing the nine fields the label carries. The Nutrition note records the other three: the 2021 photo (926 kJ / 223 kcal, fat 18 g, calcium 413 mg), Matinfo's 2018 record (884 kJ / 213 kcal, fat 17 g, protein 15 g, calcium 360 mg), and Open Food Facts' typed 901 kJ against its own 222 kcal — arithmetically impossible (901 kJ is 215 kcal) and **not** flagged in `nutriments_inconsistent`. Carbohydrate and sugars really are 0 g on the label, so those zeros are label values, not the usual Open Food Facts zero-fill. **Markets and origin.** One NO row: Kavli lists the 175 g tube as stocked in every store of all ten Norwegian chains. Open Food Facts also tags France and Germany, but the only non-Norwegian listing that printed this GTIN (supercostablanca.es) is a dead 404 and norwegianfoodstore.com ships worldwide from Norway without printing the barcode, so those countries are left off (rule 6). `country_of_origin: NO` rests on three surfaces: Matinfo's opprinnelsesland, the ingredient strip's "Norsk smelteost", and the oval EFTA health mark **NO M 902** on the back photo. **Ownership.** Kavli is owned by a charitable foundation, which is worth having in the corpus: `company/o-kavli-as` (org. 971142138, Nesttun, 158 employees, NACE 10.510) and `company/kavli-holding-as` (org. 913344162) are both owned by `company/kavlifondet` (O. Kavli og Knut Kavlis Allmennyttige Fond, org. 938503583, founded 1962-04-25), which distributes the group's whole profit and has given away over 1.4 bn NOK since 1962. All three register records were read from data.brreg.no in the citable /enheter/<orgnr> form; the 1962 transfer is corroborated by both Wikipedias. **Stubs.** brand/kavli; company/o-kavli-as, kavli-holding-as, kavlifondet; ingredient/hvitost, bacon, rennet, smoke-flavouring, emulsifying-salts, polyphosphates (E452), potassium-sorbate (E202), nisin (E234) — E numbers from the UK Food Standards Agency list, since the Norwegian pack prints names only. Reused water, salt, milk, pork, lactic-culture and sodium-phosphates. One naming judgement worth flagging: the cheese base is stored as `ingredient/hvitost`, not `ingredient/white-cheese`, because the literal English translation means a brined fresh cheese such as feta, which hvitost is not. `name.en` and a search alias carry the English.
