UMG Recordings, Inc. is the Universal Music company named on US classical CDs of the early 2000s: the back cover of the US pressing of Vladimir Ashkenazy's Rachmaninov Piano Transcriptions (Decca, 2002) reads "Manufactured and Marketed by Universal Classics Group, a Division of UMG Recordings, Inc., 825 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10019".^[1] Universal Classics Group is recorded here as a trading name of the division, not as a separate legal entity.^[1]
