About Cottee's

Cottee's is an Australian brand whose drinks business began with Passiona syrup and was spun off as Cottees Passiona in 1927; the company went on to cordials, jams, toppings and jellies.[1] Its cordials belong to Asahi Beverages, which lists Cottee's among its own Australian brands.[2] Asahi's history places Cottee's joining Cadbury Schweppes in 1985 and says that while the jams, toppings and jellies moved to other makers, the cordials remain in its range.[3] Wikipedia dates the Cadbury Schweppes purchase to 1984 and records that Asahi acquired Schweppes Australia from Cadbury with the Cottee's cordial and Passiona trademarks in Australia.[1] The 2010 recall of every 2-litre Cottee's cordial flavour was issued by Schweppes Australia, the company now named Asahi Beverages.[4][5]
