Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. is the listed parent of the Asahi group, established in Japan on 1 September 1949, tracing the business to 1889 and trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market as 2502; it reported consolidated net sales of ¥2,894.7 billion for 2025 and 28,560 employees at the end of that year.[1] It took its present form in July 2011, when Asahi Breweries, Ltd. became the pure holding company Asahi Group Holdings and a new Asahi Breweries, Ltd. was set up for the Japanese alcohol business.[2] Its group companies are organised as Japan and East Asia, Europe, and Asia Pacific, the last headed by Asahi Beverages, which owns Schweppes in Australia.[3] The Japanese commercial register number is 0106-01-036386.[4] In GLEIF the company stands at the top of its group: it files its direct accounting consolidation parent as a reporting exception with the reason "no known person", meaning no entity consolidates it.[5] Wikidata carries the same company as item Q11283168, a holding company identified by that LEI.[6]
