About this product
Walkers Ready Salted Crisps 6 × 25 g is a multipack of six single-serve bags of plain salted potato crisps, sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland under the Walkers brand.[3][2] It is made by Walkers Snack Foods Ltd. of Leicester, the PepsiCo subsidiary that Wikipedia calls Britain's largest crisp maker; Ready Salted is one of its three main flavours.[2][4] The maker lists the crisps as potatoes fried in sunflower and rapeseed oil with salt, plus rosemary extract, ascorbic acid, tocopherol-rich extract and citric acid as antioxidants, and it advertises them as made from 100% British potatoes.[5] Each 25 g bag has about 130 kcal.[5][3] Retailer data sheets give the United Kingdom as country of origin.[3]
Labels photographed in 2019 and 2021 list only potatoes, sunflower and rapeseed oils and salt.[6][7] The four antioxidants appear on the One Stop data sheet updated in September 2022 and on every later source.[2][5] The nutrition figures differ slightly from one source to the next, from 518 to 526 kcal per 100 g and from 1.2 to 1.4 g of salt.[5][3][8] The 2021 pack's front carried the "Legendary Ready Salted" wording and the "We see potential" line, and its film is marked PP 5 for recycling.[7]
