About Walkers
Walkers is a British brand of potato crisps and snacks, founded in Leicester in 1948 by Henry Walker.[1] The Walker family sold the business to Standard Brands in 1970, and it has belonged to PepsiCo since 1989; the company trading under the name, Walkers Snack Foods Limited, sells in Great Britain and Ireland and is described by Wikipedia as the largest crisp maker in Britain.[1] Its main crisp flavours are Cheese and Onion (from 1954), Salt and Vinegar (from 1967) and Ready Salted, and former footballer Gary Lineker has fronted its advertising since 1995.[1] Ready Salted is sold with the word "Legendary" on its range page.[2]
