About this product
Saskia is the own-label mineral water of the German discounter Lidl, and this 1.5-litre bottle is the carbonated Classic sort drawn from the Saskia spring at Leissling (Leißling) in Saxony-Anhalt.[1][2] The label sells it as natural mineral water with carbon dioxide, marks it low in sodium on the front, and reproduces an extract from a July 2019 analysis by Laborunion Prof. Höll giving 16,4 mg sodium, 95,4 mg calcium and 375 mg hydrogen carbonate per litre.[2][3] It is filled by MEG Weißenfels GmbH & Co. KG, which bottles Saskia for Lidl at five German spring sites, Leißling among them.[4] The barcode is an EAN-8, allocated individually rather than from a company prefix.
The same Classic sort is filled at Wörth am Rhein, Jessen, Löningen and Kirkel under separate barcodes, each labelled with its own spring and analysis.[4][1]
