About this product
A single CD in Deutsche Grammophon's 2001 "Westminster The Legacy" series pairing Hermann Scherchen's 1957 Vienna recordings of Rimsky-Korsakov's Sheherazade, Op. 35, with Rudolf Streng as solo violinist, and Tchaikovsky's Ouverture solennelle "1812", Op. 49, both with the Vienna State Opera Orchestra.[2] The recordings were made in the Mozartsaal of the Vienna Konzerthaus and carry a ℗ 1958; the European pressing was made in Germany by Universal M & L.[2] The same barcode is on the US pressing, 289 471 215-2, manufactured and marketed by Universal Classics Group,[1] which MusicBrainz dates to 12 June 2001.[3] Deutsche Grammophon still lists the album under this UPC in its catalogue.[4]
More about this product
Westminster was an American classical label co-founded in 1949; MCA acquired its catalogue in 1979, and the recordings are now managed by Deutsche Grammophon.[5] Scherchen recorded for Westminster in Vienna in the 1950s, including the first commercial recording of Mahler's Seventh Symphony with the same orchestra in 1953.[6] The old Barcodepedia listed this barcode in 2007 with data from Amazon.com.[7]

Coverage measures the evidence recorded here. It does not rate the product.
- Identity: 3 / 3 · Name, brand and classification recorded
- Release details: 5 / 5 · Profile fields recorded: artists, label, media, released, catalogue_number. Missing fields may require research or an applicability note.
- tracks evidence: 5 / 5 · Recorded rows linked to source evidence; does not measure whether the list is complete
- Context: 2 / 3 · Evidence groups assigned to a researched label, edition or analysis
- Label photographs: 0 / 2 · Researched contexts with an assigned photograph
- Specifications: 0 / 11 · Recorded specifications mapped to comparable property keys
- identity · disputed: Recording months: the booklet note transcribed on Discogs gives Sheherazade 5/1957 and the 1812 Overture 6/1957; MusicBrainz recording relations give Sheherazade June 1957 and the 1812 Overture May 1957. The Discogs printed note is kept.
- identity · disputed: Release date: MusicBrainz gives 2001-06-12 for the US release, Discogs only 2001 for both pressings, and the Deutsche Grammophon catalogue page shows 15 October 2009 (probably its digital date). The Release field keeps the year.
- identity · not_applicable: The two US BMG Direct club editions with the same catalogue number carry club code D140960, not this barcode, so they are other articles (family variants).
- relationships · unknown: No source names the licensee of GS1 company prefix 0028947; no gs1_prefix_owner edge is recorded.
- relationships · unknown: The US disc hub reads "MADE IN USA BY UML"; the US plant behind UML is not identified, so no manufactured_by edge points at the German Universal Manufacturing & Logistics stub for the US pressing.
- markets · stale: Market evidence is the catalogue entries for the 2001 pressings; the Amazon.com page for ASIN B00005LMW4 fetched but printed no barcode and garbled the artist, and Presto Music is blocked to the server.
- packaging · unknown: Packaging (jewel case or other) is not stated by MusicBrainz or Discogs.
- schema · schema_gap: Review and assign legacy facts to coherent observations.
- schema · schema_gap: Some specifications retain source labels without comparable property keys.
