Unilever PLC is the British multinational consumer goods company headquartered in London, formed in 1930 by the merger of the Dutch margarine producer Margarine Unie with the British soap maker Lever Brothers; its baby food, beauty, cleaning, healthcare and hygiene products are sold in more than 190 countries and the group is organised into Beauty and Wellbeing, Personal Care, Home Care and Nutrition.[1] It bought Lipton in 1971 and Brooke Bond in 1984 and divested most of its tea brands in 2021.[1] Companies House records UNILEVER PLC as an active public limited company, number 00041424, incorporated on 21 June 1894, with its registered office at Port Sunlight, Wirral.[2] Unilever remains a co-owner of the Pepsi Lipton ready-to-drink tea joint venture with PepsiCo.[3]
