About Sinar Sosro

PT Sinar Sosro is the Indonesian beverage company the Sosrodjojo family registered on 17 July 1974 to bottle Tehbotol Sosro, the ready-to-drink jasmine tea it had been selling since 1969.^[1] From Graha Sosro on Jalan Raya Sultan Agung in Medan Satria, Bekasi, it ran twelve plants across Indonesia as of 2021 and markets Tehbotol Sosro, Fruit Tea Sosro, S-Tee, Tebs, Country Choice and Prim-A mineral water.^[1][2] Since 27 November 2004 it has sat under the family holding company PT Anggada Putra Rekso Mulia, the Rekso Group, which held 90% of its shares.^[1][3] Under a merger prospectus of 15 October 2024 the company was folded into PT Sinar Sosro Gunung Slamat as the receiving company, effective 1 December 2024, and dissolved by law.^[3]

The family's tea trade began in 1940 at Slawi in Central Java with the loose-leaf brand Teh Cap Botol.^[1] Sinar Sosro's first plant stood at Ujung Menteng, then part of Bekasi.^[4] Tehbotol is filled in the 220 ml returnable glass bottle, Tetra Pak cartons of 200 ml to 1 litre, PET bottles, a pouch and a can, and the tea leaf comes from the group's own West Java gardens.^[2][5] Packs the company does not fill itself are made to order: the 200 ml carton names PT Buana Tirta Utama of Gresik as the filler and PT Sinar Sosro of Bekasi as the company it is made for.^[6] In the October 2024 prospectus, PT Anggada Putra Rekso Mulia held 90% of the company and Sutiono and Wirjono Sosrodjojo 5% each, and PT Sinar Sosro Gunung Slamat — the former PT Gunung Slamat of Slawi in Tegal — was named the receiving entity.^[3]

The 8996006 GS1 barcode block is filled with the company's own brands — Tehbotol, Fruit Tea, S-Tee, Tebs, Country Choice and Prim-A read on 2026-09-17 — while the neighbouring 8996001 block carries Mayora's Roma, Beng-Beng, Kopiko, Energen and Torabika; that block boundary is the basis for the inferred prefix.^[7][8]
