About Shanghai Jiushi Group
Shanghai Jiushi (Group) Co., Ltd. (上海久事（集团）有限公司) is a Shanghai state investment and operating holding company. It was formed in December 1987 to carry out the functions of the municipal government's "94 special projects" office, borrowing 3.2 billion US dollars from the IMF, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank for the Nanpu Bridge, metro line 1, the Suzhou Creek works, the Hongqiao terminal and industrial projects; it became an enterprise in 1992 and now runs bus operations, property and sports and events venues, including Shanghai International Circuit and the city's bus group, with registered capital of 25.27 billion yuan and its seat in Jiushi Tower on Zhongshan Road South.[1] The state-asset commission's own list of supervised units names it among the companies it manages directly.[2]
It is on this site as a shareholder of Bright Food (Group) Co., Ltd., subscribing 14.8718 % of that company's capital at the date of the 2024 bond prospectus; the same prospectus records the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission as the sole state shareholder of Shanghai Jiushi.[3]
