The Schörghuber Unternehmensgruppe is a Munich family group working in property, hotels, drinks and salmon farming; its holding company is the Schörghuber Stiftung & Co. Holding KG.^[1] Josef Schörghuber began the business in 1954 with the property developer Bayerische Hausbau, entered the hotel trade in 1969 and bought the Hacker-Pschorr and Paulaner breweries at the end of the 1970s. His son Stefan Schörghuber led the group from 1995, his widow Alexandra Schörghuber has led it since his death in November 2008, and Florian Schörghuber has chaired the board since October 2024.^[1] The drinks interests are held through the Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA, formerly Brau Holding International, a joint venture with Heineken holding 30 %; through it the group holds the majority of Kulmbacher Brauerei.^[1][2]
