German brewing group based in Kulmbach. It was founded in 1846 as Reichelbräu and became a stock corporation in 1895. Its majority owner, with 63.8 %, is the Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe, a joint venture of Heineken and the Schörghuber group.[1] In 2005 it took a 90.7 % majority of Würzburger Hofbräu AG.[1] Its address is Lichtenfelser Straße 9, 95326 Kulmbach, and it is registered at the Bayreuth local court under HRB 62.[2]
