Barilla Group

About

Italian multinational food company founded on 28 September 1877 in Parma by Pietro Barilla Sr as a bread and pasta shop.^[1][2] It is the world's largest pasta producer and runs 30 production sites, half of them in Italy.^[2] The American chemical company W. R. Grace held a controlling interest from 1971 until Pietro Barilla bought it back in 1979; the group has been privately held by the Barilla family ever since.^[2] Besides Barilla it owns brands including Mulino Bianco, Pavesi and Voiello.^[1] Pack legal information gives the responsible food business operator as Barilla Group, Via Mantova 166, 43122 Parma.^[3]
