Wasa

About
Wasa is the crispbread brand of Wasabröd, a Swedish producer in business since 1919, when its first bakery opened in Skellefteå.[1] A fully mechanised bakery at Filipstad followed in 1931 and became the seat of the company, which took the name AB Wasabröd in 1964.[1] The brand name was originally that of a single product, Vasaknäcke, which carried an image of King Gustavus Vasa; a royal crown still appears in the brand's marketing.[1] Wasabröd has been owned by the Italian Barilla group since 1999 and sells about 80% of its production outside Sweden.[1]
