About

Arla Foods amba is a Danish-Swedish dairy co-operative with limited liability, formed on 17 April 2000 when the Swedish Arla merged with the Danish MD Foods; the Swedish side traces back to 1881.^[1] It is owned by its farmer members across Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and ranks among the largest dairy companies in the world.^[1] Its Danish head office is at Sønderhøj 14, 8260 Viby J, the address printed on the group's Danish foodservice product data sheets.^[2] Arla took a half share in the Esbjerg chocolate milk business Cocio in 2002 and has owned it outright since 2008; it lists Cocio among its brands and says the drink is made at a dedicated factory in Esbjerg.^[3] The Danish company register records ARLA FOODS AMBA as the owner of Cocio Chokolademælk A/S.^[4]
