Lotus is the brand of Lotus Bakeries, the biscuit maker founded in Lembeke, Belgium, in 1932 by the brothers Jan, Emiel and Henri Boone; Jan named it after the lotus flower, a symbol of purity.[1] Its best-known product is Biscoff, the company's caramelised speculoos.[2]
