About this product
Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By: Instrumental Version is the US double vinyl LP of the instrumental edition of the only album by Lovage.[2] Dan the Automator headed the project under his pseudonym Nathaniel Merriweather, and the vocal edition featured Mike Patton and Jennifer Charles.[3] The San Francisco hip-hop label 75 Ark released these two 12-inch discs in a paper sleeve in 2001 under catalogue number AK5053, with 16 tracks over four sides.[1] Discogs notes that the four skits keep their voices, that Howie Weinberg mastered it at Masterdisk in New York, and that the sleeve prints "Distributed by Tommy Boy Music".[4] The 12-track CD edition carries its own barcode.[5]
The album's cover is a homage to Serge Gainsbourg's N° 2, and it reached number 37 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart.[2] 75 Ark folded in 2001;[6] later reissues of the album appeared on other labels with new barcodes.[7]
