About this product
Espiga Peach Jam is a 340 g glass jar of peach extra jam sold under Espiga, a brand of the Portuguese food company Fábricas Lusitana. The front reads "Doce de Pêssego" with "Peach Jam" and "Confiture de Pêche" beneath it, beside a "Produto de Portugal" roundel, and the ingredient strip is headed with the legal denomination "Peach Extra Jam".[2][3] The jam is made with peach at 50 % and the label states that it is prepared with 50 g of fruit per 100 g, which clears the 450 g of fruit pulp per 1 000 g that the EU jam directive requires of an extra jam as a general rule.[3][4] Espiga's own page still publishes the same list and the same panel in 2026, and adds that the jar keeps three weeks in the fridge once opened.[5]

Espiga was established in 1954 and launched with plain wheat flour; its range now also covers spices, sauces, bread crumbs, cocoa powder, oils and preserved fruit.[6] The brand belongs to Fábricas Lusitana - Produtos Alimentares, S.A., which also owns Branca de Neve and Monte Branco and was founded by António Trigueiros de Aragão, who built the works at Alcains in the Castelo Branco district.[7] The company is registered under NIF 500348863 with its seat in Alcains and an office in Lisbon.[8][9] In Portugal the jar is listed by the online shop Supermercado Lavrador at €3.29.[1]
