About this product

Ballantine's Finest is a blended Scotch whisky, and this barcode is its 70 cl glass bottle at 40% vol, labelled "Product of Scotland".[3] Ballantine's is produced by Chivas Brothers, the Pernod Ricard subsidiary in Dumbarton, and Finest is the oldest expression in its range.[4] The label states that the whisky is blended and bottled by George Ballantine and Son Ltd of Dumbarton.[3] Photographed back labels name Pernod as exclusive distributor for France[1] and Pernod Ricard Swiss S.A. of Carouge as importer for Switzerland.[2] A French wholesaler[5] and a Swiss whisky shop still listed the barcode in 2026.[6] Like other EU beverages above 1.2% alcohol, it carries no ingredient list or nutrition declaration.[7]

More about this product

George Ballantine opened a grocery in Edinburgh in 1827 and later blended his own whiskies in Glasgow. Hiram Walker acquired the business in 1937, it became part of Allied Domecq in 1987 and Pernod Ricard bought it in 2005.[4]
