The British Music Collection: Sir Charles Villiers Stanford is a single-CD Decca compilation of choral music and songs by the Anglo-Irish composer Charles Villiers Stanford (1852–1924), released in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2002 under catalogue number 470 384-2.[1][2] Its 17 tracks include the Songs of the Sea with baritone Thomas Allen under Roger Norrington, canticles from the Services in B-flat and G, Beati quorum via, and two 1952 mono broadcast songs by Kathleen Ferrier.[1][3] It belongs to the second batch of Decca's British Music Collection, a reissue series launched in May 2001.[4][5] Decca Music Group Limited holds the compilation copyright, and the disc was made and printed in the UK.[3]

The recordings span 1952 to 2000, from King's College and St John's College choirs in Cambridge to Winchester Cathedral and New College, Oxford.[3] BBC Music Magazine counted the Stanford and Parry discs among the second batch's "variable anthologies" of Victorian vocal music.[6] The 2007 Barcodepedia page for this barcode called it a CD titled "Various Artists - The British Music Collecti", taken from upcdatabase.com.[7]
