Butane

About

Butane is an alkane of formula C4H10 that exists as two isomers, n-butane and iso-butane, both colourless, highly flammable gases that liquefy easily under pressure; blended with propane it makes up liquefied petroleum gas, and it serves as the propellant in aerosol sprays such as deodorants.^[1] In an anti-perspirant aerosol the liquefied gas both pushes the formula out of the can and atomises it, which is why it heads the ingredient statement of the 150 ml Dove Invisible Dry spray.^[2]
