Natural wax secreted by worker honey bees of the genus Apis, mainly esters of fatty acids and long-chain alcohols; approved in the EU as food additive E901 and used in small quantities as a glazing agent that prevents water loss.^[1] An animal product, so not vegan. Printed as "Überzugsmittel: Bienenwachs weiß und gelb" on Haribo Goldbären.^[2]
