Apple juice concentrate

About

Apple juice concentrate is juice pressed from apples with most of its water removed, so that a small declared quantity stands for a much larger quantity of juice once it is made back up with water. Indian and export labels use it to state both figures at once: the 200 mL Appy carton declares "APPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE (2.0%)" in its ingredient list and explains the marker above the nutrition panel as "CONTAINS 12% APPLE JUICE FROM CONCENTRATE", so 2.0 % of concentrate is the label's own equivalent of 12 % reconstituted apple juice.^[1]
