About

Mug Root Beer is PepsiCo's root beer line, sold in the United States in bottles and cans from 7.5 fl oz to the 2-litre (67.6 fl oz) bottle, and also as a fountain syrup and a SodaStream concentrate.[1] The recipe is caffeine free and sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, and a Zero Sugar version sits alongside it. The line began in San Francisco in 1940 as Belfast Root Beer from New Century Beverage Company, took the Mug name during the 1950s, and passed to PepsiCo in 1986, when it replaced On-Tap Draft Style Root Beer as the company's root beer.[2]
