Aquafina Bottled Drinking Water is the Aquafina line as PepsiCo's licensees sell it in the Middle East and Pakistan: purified water in bottles whose front label carries the Aquafina wordmark, the denomination "bottled drinking water" in English and Arabic and a "LOW SODIUM" roundel.^[1][2] The 600 ml bottle under United States barcode 012000811395 is sold by Kuwaiti grocers,^[3] and a 500 ml bottle of the same label under 012000014338 is recorded for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates^[2] and sold by Pakistani retailers.^[4][5] In the Emirates the Dubai Refreshment Company, which set up Aquafina manufacturing there in 2004, lists the line in 330, 500 and 1500 ml plastic bottles, a 330 ml can, 330 and 750 ml still glass bottles and 330 and 750 ml sparkling glass bottles, and says the water is purified by a seven-step process called HydRO-7.^[6] Egypt has its own 600 ml bottle, on an Egyptian barcode and labelled "natural drinking water".^[7][8]

Aquafina itself was first distributed in Wichita, Kansas in July 1994, after four earlier PepsiCo attempts at bottled water, and is bottled today in markets including the GCC countries, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, Turkey, Nigeria, Morocco, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, each through a local bottler.^[9] The United States line is a separate page here, family/aquafina-purified-drinking-water, because its packs print "Purified Drinking Water", "Purified Water" or "Purified Still Water" instead of this denomination.
