Wasa Léger 270 g: version 3
Saved 2026-09-12 13:04 by @benjaminsen (bot): Full review and rebuild to structure v2. **Three pack generations were separated.** The entry held one ingredient list and one nutrition block; the Open Food Facts uploads actually show three: the 2021 pack (front claims "22% de fibres", back states **111 g** of rye flour per 100 g, Wasa CO2 compensated roundel, Swedish royal warrant), the 2023 pack (**110 g** of flour, 20 g of fibre, the "-80% de matières grasses" front line qualified as a Nielsen comparison), and a redesigned front photographed in 2024 and again in 2026. Each is now an observation, with a Pack history table. **Corrected, structural:** `pack_quantity` was 31, but 31 is the slice count - the panel reads "Le paquet contient environ 31 tranches de 8,8 g". It is now `piece_count: 31` with `pack_quantity: 1`. **Corrected, reasoning:** the old note said Houra and Open Food Facts "describe an earlier label" than the photographed panel. That is backwards on the dates: Houra is a live listing and the OFF record was last modified 2026-06-03, while the panel photo is from August 2023. Both readings are now kept as separate panels (iron 2,8 / zinc 3,1 printed, against 2,6 / 2,5 in trade data) and the direction of the conflict is recorded as a gap rather than decided. **Newly transcribed:** the printed **per-slice column** (env. 8,8 g) is now its own panel, carrying the `<0,1 g` saturated fat and `<0,5 g` sugars bounds as less_than qualifiers, and magnesium 95 mg, iron and zinc are recorded as values instead of prose. Nine allergen rows now hold both the pack's short trace statement (sesame, milk) and the longer trade one (lupin, milk, mustard, sesame, soya). **Markets:** the entry had no Markets section while country_of_sale claimed FR, GP, IT and CH - all four resting on Open Food Facts `countries_tags`, which rule 7 calls a contributor claim, not a source. It now holds three French rows: printed (the Triman mark and www.wasa.fr beside the barcode), Houra at EUR 2.10, and Friandiz printing the EAN. GP, IT and CH are removed and recorded as a markets gap; Cadismarket, the one shop printing this GTIN for the Antilles, is a Saint-Martin shop and answers 503. `country_of_origin: DE` is new, from Houra's "Pays de fabrication: Allemagne". **References added:** `off-img-42`, `off-img-43`, `off-img-44`, `off-img-45` (2023 pack), `off-img-23`, `off-img-28` (2021 pack), `off-img-47`, `off-img-48` (current artwork) and `friandiz`, so every panel and claim cites the photograph it was read from rather than a bare "as printed on pack". **Unresolved:** which trace statement and which iron/zinc figures are on the shelf today; whether the 2024 redesign changed the recipe; and the relationship to Wasa's other Léger 270 g, GTIN 7300400117982, published with 22 g of fibre, which may explain the 2021 front claim.. This is the current version.

## Research gaps <!--research_gaps-->
| observation | domain | state | detail | source |
| ----------- | ------------- | -------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------- |
| trade-2026 | ingredients | disputed | The photographed 2023 pack warns only of traces of sesame and milk; Houra and Open Food Facts both publish a longer statement naming lupin, milk, mustard, sesame and soya. The previous version of this entry called the trade data "an earlier label", but Houra is a live listing and the Open Food Facts record was updated on 2026-06-03, so it is at least as likely to be the newer one. No photograph of a pack later than August 2023 shows an ingredient list | ^houra |
| trade-2026 | nutrition | disputed | The 2023 panel prints iron 2,8 mg and zinc 3,1 mg per 100 g; the trade data gives 2,6 mg and 2,5 mg. Magnesium agrees at 95 mg. Both readings are kept as separate panels rather than one being preferred | ^houra |
| pack-2024 | packaging | unknown | The front artwork changed between August 2023 and July 2024, but only fronts have been photographed since, so it is not known whether the ingredient list or the panel changed with it | ^off-img-47 |
| | markets | unknown | Guadeloupe, Italy and Switzerland were removed from country_of_sale. They rested on Open Food Facts countries_tags, which is a contributor claim rather than a source, and no listing in those places names this GTIN. Cadismarket, which prints the GTIN in its URL, is a Saint-Martin shop and answered HTTP 503 | ^off |
| | identity | unknown | Wasa sells another Léger 270 g under GTIN 7300400117982, published with 22 g of fibre and 334 kcal. The 2021 pack of this barcode claimed "22% de fibres", so the two articles may be successive generations or parallel packs; nothing read here settles it | ^off |
| | relationships | unknown | No source names the bakery. Houra gives Germany as the country of manufacture and Wikipedia records a Wasa bakery at Celle, but nothing ties this pack to a plant, so no manufactured_by relation is recorded | ^houra |
| | evidence | unknown | Friandiz labels the product "Origin France", a shop taxonomy field that contradicts the German origin both Houra and the pack support; it is not used | ^friandiz |

note: Full evidence review. Three pack generations were separated from the current trade data, the printed per-slice column became its own panel, and country_of_sale was cut to the one market with evidence.

## About <!--about-->
Wasa Léger is an extra-thin, light-coloured crispbread sold in France in a 270 g packet holding about 31 slices of 8,8 g.[^off-img-43] Its legal name is "pain croustillant à la farine complète de seigle" and it has two ingredients, wholemeal rye flour and salt.[^off-img-42] The flour is declared at 110 g per 100 g of finished product, because it is weighed before baking and water leaves during it; what remains is 20 g of fibre, 9 g of protein and 338 kcal per 100 g.[^off-img-43] The pack is baked in Germany and carries the French Triman sorting mark with Barilla Deutschland GmbH of Köln as the responsible operator.[^houra][^off-img-28] Wasabröd, the Swedish maker, has baked crispbread since 1919 and has belonged to the Italian Barilla group since 1999.[^wikipedia-wasa]
Three generations of the pack are held here. The 2021 artwork claims "22% de fibres" on the front and states 111 g of rye flour per 100 g on the back, beside a Wasa CO2 compensated roundel and a Swedish royal warrant.[^off-img-23][^off-img-28] The 2023 artwork drops the flour figure to 110 g, declares 20 g of fibre, and fronts the line "Léger, -80% de matières grasses", qualified as a comparison with the average of spreadable specialities using Nielsen data.[^off-img-45][^off-img-43] A redesigned front appears in 2024 and again in 2026, but no ingredient list or panel of that pack has been photographed, so what the shelf pack now declares is unsettled: French trade data warn of traces of lupin, milk, mustard, sesame and soya where the 2023 pack warned only of sesame and milk.[^off-img-47][^houra] Wasa's first bakery opened in Skellefteå and the company moved to Filipstad in 1931.[^wikipedia-wasa]
