Pepsi Light is PepsiCo's sugar-free cola as sold in Germany, the drink marketed as Diet Pepsi in the United States.[^wikidiet] This barcode is the 1.5 litre PET bottle.[^did] Its German label says "Ohne Zucker" and lists caramel colour, phosphoric and citric acid, the sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame K, sodium benzoate and caffeine, with 0.2 kcal per 100 ml.[^label] A 2007 catalogue record names PepsiCo Deutschland GmbH as its maker, and the barcode lies in the GS1 prefix that company states as its own.[^did][^punica] Pepsi Light has been sold in Germany since 1975.[^wikide]
The same ingredient list was transcribed for this barcode in 2007 and photographed in 2018 and 2019.[^did][^label] In a test published in May 2016, Stiftung Warentest found a high level of 4-methylimidazole, a substance from caramel colouring, in Pepsi and Pepsi Light sold in Germany, and objected to the chlorate content of Pepsi Light.[^wikide]
